Trail Blazers Honored at Southtown Annual Beautification Awards

On May 13, Southtown held its annual Beautification Award dinner at Benjamin Ranch. In keeping with the western-style setting, the theme of this year’s ceremony was “Blazing Trails,” and the honorees were certainly a “round-up” of the best individuals and organizations that work to keep Southtown beautiful.

Alphapointe and Audio Reader to Partner

Alphapointe Association for the Blind and the Kansas Audio Reader Network have announced a new partnership that expands the coverage of readings of local newspapers available to people who are visually impaired. The Kansas Audio Reader Network is a free radio reading service for the visually impaired living in Kansas and western Missouri. With this new partnership, volunteers will record 10 hours of news from local papers each week at the Alphapointe Studios.
