St. Peters Sparkles

St. Peter’s Catholic Parish and SchoolSt. Peter’s Catholic Parish and School, located at 815 E. Meyer Boulevard, is home to 80 employees, more than 500 students and 890 families. Opening its doors in 1925, St. Peter’s has always been located at Holmes and Meyer Boulevard, but has recently expanded its campus boundaries east to Rockhill Road.

After expanding east, the addition of the beautiful limestone monument on the corner of Meyer Boulevard and Rockhill Road, has unified the entire campus of the Parish and School. The sign was made possible by long-time parishioner, Jean Steinbacher Spengler and the monument was dedicated in her memory. The new monument along with the continually well-maintained grounds warranted the selection of this property for the August Southtown Sparkle award.

Offering education for students K-8, with an addition of Pre-K and early childhood learning center classrooms, education is their mission and they strive to be involved in ministry activities. Social services outreach, food pantry, pantry garden, Knights of Columbus, sacramental formation, and youth ministry are just a few of the ways they stay involved in the neighborhood. Reverend Stephen M. Cook and parish faculty offer year-round ministries as well as weekend masses, and can be reached Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm at 816-800-0105.

Thank you St. Peter’s for all that you do and your wonderful new monument adds just the right amount of sparkle to Southtown!
