In March of 2010 Waldo crossed into a new era, the era of Social Media. Since then Waldo’s Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/EverythingWaldo), Twitter Profile (https://twitter.com/everythingwaldo) and FourSquare Profile (https://foursquare.com/everythingwaldo) have steadily grown with new fans, followers and check-ins. Behind all of this activity is Social Media Strategist and Manager Melissa Saubers.
Melissa is a former Sprint eBusiness manager, former area realtor and past president of the Waldo Area Business Association. She has lived in the area since she married her husband Joe Saubers in 1994 and her children go to St. Elizabeth School. One of the things she loves about living and working in the area is what she calls her “3 minute commute.” “I really don’t have to go outside of the area to find anything I need. Waldo has everything that I need or want!” Everything Waldo on Facebook has earned the Best Facebook Page for two years in a row by The Pitch readers in the Best of Kansas City Poll.
The goal of Waldo’s social media efforts is to create a real-time, interactive forum where “fans” are commenting, posting & sharing content. “I love it when people tell me they found out about something on Everything Waldo. One of my main goals is to make sure everyone knows about Waldo! I brag about this neighborhood all the time. I’ve never seen so many people working so hard to make it the best area to live, work and play in Kansas City.”
In addition to managing the social media efforts of Waldo, Melissa helps small businesses, non-profits and communities with their social and interactive media. She also holds Social Media 101 and 201 training in the area. If you have something you’d like to get posted on Everything Waldo just shoot an email to EverythingWaldo@gmail.com. Tell all of your “friends” to like, share, follow, tweet, re-tweet, mention and check-in at Everything Waldo on Facebook, Twitter
and Foursquare.
