The Southtown Beautification Committee selected Astor Place, 810 E. 63rd St. as the January Southtown Sparkle Award recipient. Six years ago, Ronald Reck, of Ronjays Associates, purchased the property and made quite an investment in the building. This past year, the building was painted, a new retaining wall installed along with landscaping, and interior improvements, including carpeting, windows, and an alarm system, were added.
The building is home to the Lil Bit Better Shop, Men's Room Barber Shop, the Technology Maintenance Shop (a computer repair shop), Salon Illusions, a Reflexologist, JR Rush Properties, and Susan Baldwin Jewelry. According to Reck, "Astor Place has charm and our tenants are all so unique. There is a wonderful mix of people and products/services in a great location."
