The Engage KC Leadership Board is designed to engage young people with an interest in public service and build leadership capacity for those interested in careers in this field. Participants must be a Kansas City resident, enrolled in high school or college, and must be between 16-22 years of age. The board will serve a six month term, meeting at least two days a month for workshops from January through June.
The objectives of the program are to give each participant a broad understanding of public service as a career, to examine urban issues facing Kansas City and other major metropolitan cities as well as introduce participants to Kansas City civic institutions. This experience will help prepare members with the leadership skills to engage in these issues in their future careers.
