Congratulations to KC SourceLink on completing its fifth year of operation this summer. Since June 2003, KCSourceLink has made it its mission to help small businesses in an 18-county region around the metropolitan area, an ambitious goal given the wide geography that includes more than 165,000 businesses located there. KC SourceLink’s model is to provide a one-stop shop for small businesses looking for a wide range of resources. While KC SourceLink does not provide direct service to new businesses, they do maintain a list of more than 140 business-building non-profit resource organizations that may be able to provide service. In addition, at their facility at 4747 Troost, KC SourceLink maintains its business resource center, where businesses can access their research library of business start-up guides, videos and marketing information. Businesses can also set an appointment with a volunteer from SCORE, the Service Corps of Retired Executives, for one-on-one mentoring.
