Keepin’ That Family-Friendly Feel

Governor Stumpy'sGovernor Stumpy'sKevin Ryan and the staff of Governor Stumpy’s Grill House, 321 E Gregory Blvd, didn’t miss a beat while their restaurant underwent an amazing extreme interior facelift. “Our main focus was to modernize without losing ‘that family-friendly feel’,” said Dave Baldwin, one of the managers of Governor Stumpy’s. New ceiling and lighting packages along with pendant lighting over the booths and bar area were installed. Stone is now featured behind the bar and back splash area.

The new earth-toned carpet and tile have lightened the interior and new mesh blinds will soon adorn the front windows. Tanya Ryan is currently creating a Gallery Photo Wall that will display pictures of customers as well as employees.During the remake, customers enjoyed watching the transformation take place right before their eyes while enjoying the four new plasma televisions.

“The fresh look strives to stay away from an industrial feel and lean towards a modern atmosphere similar to your own home,” Baldwin shared. Governor Stumpy’s is busy adding 8-10 new menu items which will raise $1.00/per order for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City. Governor Stumpy’s employs 32 people and with the trend in sales ticking up,additional employees may soon be needed. Stay tuned for more dramatic enhancements as they turn their attention to
the outside deck area.
