[img_assist|nid=655|title=The Well|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=150|height=101]The Waldo Area Business Association Property Committee selected 210W. 74th Terrace, now home to Plumber's Friend, Hartman Forms, and parking for the Well Bar Grill and Rooftop, for the April Waldo Best award. This 1.6 acre property was the old Evans Trent property which was acquired in late 2010. It was immediately cleaned up with the removal of severely over grown brush and trees as well as broken down tractor trailers, old boats, a mobile home and large steel trusses that were all over the yard!
The Evans Trent building was empty and in disrepair when Plumbers Friend decided to relocate their Mission and Kansas City locations to this building. They significantly upgraded the appearance both inside and out and brought new life to the building. The property also has a second building that is occupied by Hartman Forms.
The property was repaved to provide over 100 parking spots that will be shared by The Plumbers Friend, Hartman Forms, and The Well Bar Grill & Rooftop. The Well now has more than 120 exclusive parking spots in the evening and weekends to provide their entire customer base off street parking. This eliminates the need for customers having to park on neighboring streets during peak times.
The Well Bar Grill and Rooftop construction project started in January of 2009 (during the heart of the recession) [img_assist|nid=656|title=Plumber's Friend|desc=|link=node|align=right|width=150|height=113]created local jobs during the construction phase and an additional 100 new jobs for the restaurant. Combined Lew's Grill and Bar and The Well employ 130+ people during peak seasons and most of their employees live in the area or have relocated to the neighborhood since being hired. Congratulations to the Lewellen family and thanks for the major investment
