Promotion and marketing of the Troost Avenue Community Improvement District (CID) can begin now that the new logo has been released. The winning design came from Krista Schmidt from Tabor College in Hillsboro, KS and was unveiled June 19 at a reception at the Cleaver YMCA. Her designs will be used in the future on banners, clothing apparel and other promotional materials.
Special thanks goes to the Cleaver YMCA for hosting the event, as well as the following restaurants for providing food – Mad Jack’s, Go Chicken Go, Fat Guy’s Bakery & Café, Popeye’s Chicken, Cosentino’s Price Chopper, and Lutfi’s Fried Fish & Chicken.
The Troost Avenue CID is managed by seven district business owners and operators, and powered by the Southtown Council. The district is funded by an additional ½-cent sales tax and an annual $150/parcel property tax. There are 183 parcels within the district and approximately 140 property owners. Formed in 2013, the district serves Troost Avenue from 46th Street south to 75th Street, and 63rd Street from Rockhill Road east to Pener Plaza.
The district also provides trash, weeds and graffiti removal five days a week by the Troost Avenue Troopers, and a roving patrol by the Troost Avenue Titans. For more information, call 816-523-5553 or visit 6814 Troost Ave., KCMO 64131.
