Family-Friendly Events at Toy & Miniature

This holiday season, make lasting memories among the iconic antique toys and imaginative fine-scale miniatures at the Toy and Miniature Museum of Kansas City, 5235 Oak St., before it closes for renovation on January 6, 2014. The museum is proud to present a roster of activities sure to please family, friends, and out-of-town guests, including:

Father Christmas, Sunday, Dec. 22, 1:30pm: Hear stories of Christmases past from Father Christmas himself! Before passing along their wish lists, visitors will assist professional storyteller Jim "Two Crows” Wallen as he tells interactive tales of the role of Santa Claus throughout American history.

Music in the Museum, Saturday, Jan. 4, 1-2p and 2:30-3p: Relax after the holiday bustle with a free concert at the Toy and Miniature Museum. Simple Strings will fill the museum galleries with merry 19th century tunes played on a variety of stringed instruments.

Last Day to Visit Before Renovations, Sunday, Jan. 5, 1-4pm: Don’t miss your last chance to visit the museum this year! After Sunday, the museum will close to the public and begin packing the collection for a renovation to begin in the spring. Follow the progress on Facebook and our blog, toyandminiaturemuseum.org/blog, and come back for the grand re-opening in 2015! All events are included with the price of admission. Admission is free for members!
