Calling all Toys…..

The National Museum of Toys and Miniatures, previously the Toy and Miniature Museum of KC, plans to re-open in 2015 with a new ‘look’.  The new lobby will feature a sculpture called the “Toytisserie”, a two-story conveyor belt composed of 48 panels covered in toys, which will stimulate wonder and nostalgia for all!  As you might imagine, LOTS of toys are needed to pull this sculpture off!

Plastic or metal toys in every color of the rainbow are being requested.  The toys should be small enough to fit into the palm of your hand.  Think LEGOS, toy soldiers, action figures, dinosaurs, Hot Wheels, Happy Meal toys, game pieces, Barbie shoes….the list is endless.

The museum will be collecting toys throughout August and September at several drop-off locations, including the Southtown Planning Center, Plaza Branch of the Kansas City Public Library and the University of Missouri – Kansas City.  Contact Tony Julo at (816) 235-8009 for more information or visit www.toyandminiaturemuseum.org
