Southtown’s own Durwin Rice and his “Tulips on Troost” project made the list of Reader’s Digest’s “35 People Who Inspire Us.” The list is the featured article of the magazine’s May 2008 issue, and honors Rice as “Best Petal Pusher” for the work of the Tulips On Troost campaign he started four years ago, which today boasts an astounding 150,000 tulips planted. This spring has provided a terrific display of those efforts. Congratulations to Durwin and all the Tulips on Troost volunteers for the well-deserved recognition.
