The Southtown Beautification Committee selected the University District Venture, LLC as the recipient of the February Southtown Sparkle Award. As a real estate development and investment operator, Greg Patterson shows care and foresight for his community.
In just one short year, Mr. Patterson and his associate, John Hoffman, made it a priority to beautify the buildings around the Troost Avenue, UMKC and Rockhurst area. As of January 2009, they have completely renovated five buildings in the 5500 block of Troost Ave.
The most recent project was the 5508 Troost building that was formerly used as warehouse space. The renovation included uncovering and restoring the original hardwood floors in the storefront; the installation of new electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems; and a complete exterior renovation. The space was rented quickly and is currently in use by University Motorcycle.
The University District Venture, LLC has shown, already in its beginning stages, a great consideration for the Southtown neighborhoods and is worthy of the “Southtown Sparkles” Award. Thanks for the reinvestment made in the neighborhood!
