Come for the free tree, stay for the fun! Saturday, May 15

The Discovery Center presents Native Greens, a special event for all ages, Saturday, May 15, 10a-2:30p, at 4750 Troost Ave. Would you like to attract birds, butterflies, and toads to your yard? Landscaping with native plants creates a low maintenance garden with season long interest that will attract wildlife to your home or business. Bring your friends and family for a garden tour, build a planter, transplant seedlings, pick up a free tree sapling, learn about rain gardens, make a seed ball, or join us in the gardens to help transplant 2,000 native grass seedlings in the prairie. The event has activities for kids and adults alike.

We are looking for groups to help with the native grass planting project. If your group would like to volunteer, call Victoria Schoell-Shafer at 759-7300 or email Victoria at schoell-shafer@mdc.mo.gov.
