The City of Kansas City, Mo., in partnership with Swope Health Services and the Local Investment Commission, announced the selection of a site for a new clinic in south Kansas City. The Swope Health South Clinic will be located at 8821 Troost Ave.
The selected site was among 33 reviewed by a selection committee made up of representatives from LINC; the City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department; and Swope Health Services. The selection committee considered a variety of factors, including health indicators, transportation, accessibility and a feasibility study conducted by LINC.
The Swope Health South Clinic will be funded in part by a $320,000 grant from the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, with another $200,000 provided by the City. The remainder of the funding for the clinic is expected to come from Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements and copayments.
