Plans are underway for the 19th Annual Waldo Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 24th in the CVS parking lot at 75th and Wornall Rd. New this year, will be the Show Wagon from the KC Parks Dept., providing a bigger and better stage for all the outstanding performers scheduled for the day. Broadway United Methodist Church will start the day with a pancake breakfast beginning at 7am. The Festival officially opens at 10am with the inauguration of the 2011/12 Honorary Waldo Mayor with a special performance by the Betty Tillotson School of Dance.
The rest of the day is filled with inflatables and rides for the children, a tent filled with organizations showing off their services and wares, entertainment featuring acts from our area school musical groups all the way to widely recognized bands such June Bug and the Porchlights, and Pompous Jack! Emergency service providers will have a host of vehicles on display and food vendors will be pushing their delectable treats!
Success of this event depends on our sponsors. This event routinely draws over 3000 people throughout the metrowide area. Waldo's Fall Festival is a great way to promote your business and support the community at the same time! This year there are six levels of sponsorships available ranging from $150 to $5,000. If you are able to participate as a sponsor or need more information, please call 816-523-5553 or email marti@southtown.org. We must have your commitment by August 15 to ensure the inclusion of your organization in our publicity.
