AT&T’s 4G LTE Network

Area business, AT&T will continue to expand its 4G LTE footprint in Kansas City over the coming months. AT&T has already launched 4G LTE in Athens, Ga., Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Washington, D.C., and recently launched in six more markets including Charlotte, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Even as AT&T 4G LTE expands, customers will be able to enjoy more consistent 4G speeds as they move in and out of LTE areas. Not only is AT&T deploying 4G LTE, it has also deployed fast HSPA+ technology throughout its mobile broadband network. HSPA+, when combined with enhanced backhaul, provides customers with 4G speeds. Customers of competitors who have transitioned to LTE without further speed upgrades to their existing networks are likely to see a jarring drop-off in speeds when they move out of LTE areas. Rockhill Greens Community Planned

A local Kansas City developer has purchased 13 under-utilized acres of the Research Brookside Campus from Research Medical Center, located at 6601 Rockhill Road. The concept for the new development, called Rockhill Greens, is an environmentally responsible community including residential housing and commercial businesses, seamlessly integrated into the existing medical uses that will continue to be offered on the Research Brookside Campus.[img_assist|nid=756|title=|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=150|height=213] The development will promote a healthy-living lifestyle and sustainable design with parks, gardens, landscaping, and walking trails throughout the campus. The total acreage of the Research Brookside Campus is approximately 25 acres. Research Medical Center, part of HCA Midwest Health System, will retain the 6675 Holmes medical office building, the former hospital tower building, and the connecting auditorium. Some possible projects being proposed for the new development include assisted living and independent-living senior housing, adult day care and memory care facilities, data center/back office operations, market-rate townhouses or workforce housing, healthy-living themed retail such as a restaurant, coffee shop, organic grocery store, health club, and other commercial uses that embrace socially and environmentally responsible community development.
