The new Troost Avenue bridge has been completed, 18 separate utilities were relocated and limited access has been available during the year of construction. The City continues to coordinate with Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) as the utility completes a significant
system upgrade along the Troost Avenue Corridor. KCPL crews are currently completing system upgrades on Troost between 50th Street and Volker Boulevard. This work is expected to be completed soon.

Three Brides. Three Bins. One Dress.

Altar Bridal, 332 W. 75th St., has “dressed up” their holiday food drive for Harvesters! Three brides-to-be with heartfelt stores will be chosen by mid-November from all the stories provided. During the last two weeks of November, Altar Bridal will have three Harvesters collection bins in the store window that will represent each one of the deserving brides. The bride that collects the greatest amount of cans in her designated bin at the end of the month will win $1500 towards the purchase of a wedding gown.

New Tenant at Rockhurst

[img_assist|nid=745|title=Rockhurst Garage|desc=|link=node|align=right|width=502|height=340]The first tenant for the retail space that will be located on Troost in the ground floor of the Rockhurst University parking garage, is a health clinic to be operated by Research Medical Center. When the idea for a mixed use garage emerged, Rockhurst University saw an opportunity to provide services that would appeal to both the campus community and the greater community at large, and for the university to be a leader in the continuing revitalization of Troost Avenue.

Work on Wornall Road WoWs Waldo!

Wornall Road is open and ready for travel! After months of water main breaks, repairs, restructuring and resurfacing, work along the Wornall Rd. stretch from 79th Street to 85th and 89th to 95th Street is completed. And it is looking good!

Many businesses and residents will greatly benefit from the finalization of this project. Kansas City Public Works anticipated their efforts to conclude sometime in October/November and managed to stay on schedule. Everyone is commended for their endurance and patience during the disruption and the challenges of the construction. Please take time to visit the many shops, services, and restaurants along the Wornall Rd corridor and support their efforts to continue to provide outstanding service and quality products to the Waldo area.
