It’s Time Again to Get Your Hands Dirty

[img_assist|nid=735|title=Tulips Time!|desc=|link=node|align=center|width=320|height=240]
Saturday, October 15th is Tulips on Troost “Community Planting Date!” Join us at 9am at Meyer Blvd. and Troost Ave., and/or make a tax-deductible contribution to Southtown Foundation today so that we can purchase bulbs to plant! Mail your checks made payable to Southtown Foundation, to 6814 Troost Ave, KCMO 64131. Tulips on Troost has expanded the educational program (currently housed at the Center High School greenhouse) to include the recently built greenhouse at Center Alternative School. Unlike the expansions most of us are all too familiar with (those that require the purchase of a new pair of pants), this expansion only requires the addition of greenhouse volunteers.

Kudo’s to Mad Jack’s on Troost, 6200 Troost Ave., for giving such a clean look to Southtown. The uniformed top coat and striping of the parking lot is just the beginning of the enhancements made this past year. Newly painted pillars and trim also make the building shine.
You’ll also want to see the beautiful mural that has been added to the back fence when you
visit Mad Jack’s between the hours of 10am-9pm Monday through Saturday and noon to
5pm on Sundays.

Mad Jack’s “fresh fish market and restaurant” offers a unique feature. You can actually purchase your seafood items from the counter and have it cooked for you in the restaurant or take it home to cook! It is full-service and specializes in farm raised catfish brought in twice a week to ensure its freshness. Daily specials, traditional side orders and homemade desserts are also available.
Visit www.madjacksfreshfish.net for details.

We congratulate Mad Jack’s being the October Sparkle Award recipient. Thanks for putting a beautiful facade forward!

Two New Businesses - One Great look!

[img_assist|nid=728|title=Basement Repair Supply|desc=|link=node|align=right|width=320|height=240]Waldo is doubly excited! We have two new businesses plus a completely updated building. Basement Repair Supply and Cornerstone Foundation Repair, 7201 Central Ave., have made substantial improvements to the interior and exterior of the building.

Owner Joe Williams and Manager Bill Murphy are commended for the building facelift. The freshly painted exterior, cleared parking lot, addition of dirt and gravel bins, new signage, and repaired roof/windows compliment the renovated inside office area. New central heating and air conditioning was installed. Murphy states, “We are a one-of-a-kind retail location specializing in foundation repair materials. We are also the only location in Waldo to sell dirt and gravel by the truckload.” Foundation repair and foundation repair materials including epoxy, steel i-beams, and other materials are provided at this location.

Stop in and visit these unique businesses during the hours of 8am-4pm Monday through Friday to see how they can help meet your foundation and basement repair needs. Congratulations and thanks are extended to Basement Repair Supply and Cornerstone Foundation Repair for making such an extensive investment in Waldo and being one of WALDO’s BEST!
