Hogan Preparatory Academy Receives a College Board

Hogan Preparatory Academy, 1221 E. Meyer Blvd. was honored with the 2010 College Board Inspiration Award and a check for $25,000. Every year, the Board presents three exceptional secondary schools with Inspiration Awards, which recognize schools that have made great strides in improving the academic environment for all students and raising aspirations and preparedness for higher education.

The 2011 Link Directory

Work has begun on the annual Southtown, Waldo, Brookside combined directory, "The Link." All members of the three organizations will be listed both by category and in alpha order. Enjoy the Ride!

Attention bus riders! You can now ride the bus to visit the Kansas City Zoo. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), the # 53 Armor-Swope Park route added the Zoo to its stops between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays and 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekends. "KCATA bus service to the Zoo's front door is perfect for our guests and employees who use public transportation. It's also a great green option to aid us in our commitment to conservation," commented Randy Wisthoff, Executive Director/CEO of the Kansas City Zoo.

Webelo Scouts from Pack 118, based at St. Peter's School, conducted a flag and rededication ceremony in May at the grave site of Private Harry Hoggatt, USMC. He was killed in action in 1918 in France during WW I. Private Hoggatt represents one of a handful of US Marines from Kansas City killed in this conflict.
