This month, the Southtown Beautification Committee selected Soil Service Garden Center, 7125 and 7130 Troost Ave. as the Sparkle recipient. This family owned and operated establishment has been in business for 76 years and employs more than 25 people! Family members Steve, Gary and Jan Archer manage the operations.

The Waldo Area Business Association Property Committee selected Center of Life Chiropractic, 336 W. 75th St. as the May Waldo's Best recipient. After starting out in Brookside, the business was moved to the current location in 2003. Then in October of last year, owner Dr. Aaron McDonald and office manager Devin Thorla expanded the business into the adjoining space thus increasing from 700 sq' to 2200 sq'. The new space provides 7 additional treatment rooms and enough room to add extra services and eventually additional Chiropractors.

The City of Kansas City, Mo., in partnership with Swope Health Services and the Local Investment Commission, announced the selection of a site for a new clinic in south Kansas City. The Swope Health South Clinic will be located at 8821 Troost Ave.
