Preserving the Sparkle

christ communityThe Christ Community – Brookside Campus has been diligent in the restoration and renovation of the beautiful church located on Wornall at 400 W. 67th St. This year, an extensive $1.4 million restoration project including a new slate roof, a new copper steeple, all new HVAC system, electrical and plumbing upgrades was completed. Other improvements included a new audio/visual system, carpeting throughout the building, installation of ADA accessible restrooms, restoration of paint and plaster damaged by water and the arduous process of sealing and repairing stone on the steeple tower.

Campus Pastor Bill Gorman shared, “The Brookside Campus is a thoughtful, engaging congregation situated in the heart of some of Kansas City’s most storied and historic neighborhoods. Together we strive to engage the Scriptures, worship our Savior, and serve and love one another with grace and truth. With a warm, friendly environment, we are learning what it means to follow Christ.” Pastor Gorman invites all to come by and see the improvements and to worship with them on Sundays at 10am.

Congratulations to Christ Community and thank you for preserving the Sparkle of Southtown.
