Brookside Senior Housing at Rockhill Greens, 6700 Troost Ave., celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony in December. The site, formerly home to a medical building high-rise that was demolished, is now home for more than 46 senior citizens. Flint Hills Management Group invested approximately $7.5 million into the construction of the new building. The completed first phase included one and two bedroom units, and indoor amenities including a pool table, theatre room, workout facility and reading room. Residents can also enjoy an outdoor patio and courtyard.
Brookside Senior Housing is located on the Troost Max bus line and has private parking. All units are currently leased and plans for Phase II (46 or more units) are underway. Anyone interested in taking a tour or being placed on the waiting list, is encouraged to contact Jackie Putnam at (785) 550-7228. Phase II, set for completion in two years, takes place on some of the 11 acres left to develop. Congratulations to Flint Hills Management Group for being awarded the Southtown Sparkle Award for January.
