The new Troost Avenue bridge has been completed, 18 separate utilities were relocated and limited access has been available during the year of construction. The City continues to coordinate with Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) as the utility completes a significant
system upgrade along the Troost Avenue Corridor. KCPL crews are currently completing system upgrades on Troost between 50th Street and Volker Boulevard. This work is expected to be completed soon.
The overall project will maintain its scheduled 2012 completion date. The section of roadway between Volker and 50th Street will be completed next spring to allow safe access during the winter.
Thank you for your patience and support as these critical improvements are completed for our citizens, visitors and commuters. Please feel free to call or e-mail Chad Thompson, Division Head, Capital Projects Dept., 816-513-2738 or chad.thompson@kcmo.org if you have any questions during the construction process.
