Congratulations to KC Clay Guild for their fresh look complete with new paint and sign. As a long time Waldo business, KC Clay Guild (KCCG) has been at their current location, ]200 W. 74th Street, for 12 years. When the weather gets better, they have plans to improve the west wall and the front signage.
This “all volunteer” organization began in 1988 as a way for local potters to share ideas and materials. KCCG also supports a retail gallery within the building. Beautiful pots by members and guests are on display and for sale at the Centered Earth Gallery right inside the front door of KCCG.
KC Clay Guild offers adult and children’s classes, taught by knowledgeable craftsmen in beginning and advanced hand building and wheel-throwing. They offer classes Monday through Thursday, and Saturday mornings. There are open studio times and workshops available to
members, as well as kiln firings and glazings. They sponsor Raku pottery events in the spring
and fall and the KC Clay Guild Holiday Pottery Tour and Sale in December.
In August 2012 the Third Annual KC Clay Guild Teabowl National event will be held with cooperation from Avila University. Handmade teabowls from some of the nation’s best potters will be juried and on display. They will be vying for over $1,000 in awards.
Be sure to make KC Clay Guild one of your destinations during the Holidays!
